Wave Keys vs ERGO K860: compare the layout you will actually use
An integrated palm rest and a split layout are different buying decisions. Work through desk space, key habits and the exact selected package.

Choose a layout before choosing a label
Logitech describes Wave Keys as a wireless keyboard with a cushioned palm rest and ERGO K860 as a split ergonomic wireless keyboard. These documented differences provide a useful comparison. They do not establish which keyboard will feel better to an individual, and this guide does not promise a medical outcome. Office Home Supply has not conducted a hands-on typing or comfort test of either model. Treat your daily key use and available desk space as the starting evidence.
Write down your ordinary tasks
List a few tasks that genuinely occupy the working day: writing paragraphs, entering numbers, using shortcuts, editing code or switching between applications. Note any keys you regularly reach for without looking. A different physical layout can change those habits even if the characters are the same. If several people share the desk, include each person's needs; a layout chosen for one user's preference may add friction for another.
Measure the complete input area
Measure the clear surface between the chair's normal position and the monitor, then mark the area reserved for the keyboard and pointer. Use the exact current manufacturer dimensions when drawing the outline. Include the integrated rest rather than measuring only the key section. Leave room for the mouse or trackball and for a notebook if it is normally used beside the keyboard. A paper outline is a practical way to identify a crowded arrangement before ordering.
Compare the split decision
ERGO K860's documented split format makes it relevant when a split layout is an intentional requirement. Inspect its current key diagram, especially the keys used in your shortcuts. Ask whether your typing habits depend on reaching across the middle of a conventional keyboard. This is a question to investigate, not a reason to rule the model in or out automatically. Where a return or demonstration option is available, check its conditions before assuming a trial will be possible.
Compare the palm-rest decision
Wave Keys belongs on the shortlist when an integrated cushioned rest is part of the desired arrangement. Look at the whole shape rather than assuming that the word Wave describes the same layout as the split K860. Match the illustrated key positions to your work. Compare the space it occupies with the area you measured, and consider how the rest will sit relative to the edge of the desk.
Check the actual variant
Our selected Wave Keys offer is Off White, US English, multi-OS part 920-012275. The selected ERGO K860 is Black, US English, consumer part 920-009166. A similarly named business package, Mac-specific version, regional layout or keyboard-and-mouse combo can differ from this selection. Check the part, layout and package at the merchant, then confirm the connection requirements for the computer you intend to use. Do not infer receiver contents from a different package.
Make the decision inspectable
Write one sentence for each candidate: the layout reason to consider it and the outstanding question to resolve. Compare the current total with your spending limit after those questions are answered. If the split format is not a requirement and neither keyboard fits the surface well, compare a conventional or smaller layout too. The useful result is an input area that supports your actual routine, with a selected package you can identify precisely.
