Mount evidence checklist

0 of 4 evidence checks recorded. Resolve missing checks before choosing the installation.

This records your checks; it does not certify compatibility or installation safety.

Gather the values from the correct records

Record the monitor's complete model code and find its weight without the stand. Identify the mounting-hole pattern and any recessed area or manufacturer-specified adapter. Find the exact arm's supported weight range, mounting pattern, supplied hardware and clamp or grommet limits. The screen diagonal is useful context, but it cannot replace these compatibility values. The LX, HX and TRACE families in this catalog are separate designs; specifications must not move between them merely because Ergotron makes all three.

A weight range has two ends

A spring-supported arm may specify a minimum as well as a maximum screen weight. Keep both values on your list. If the monitor weight is missing, ask the manufacturer rather than subtracting an assumed stand weight from the boxed shipping weight. Additional supported accessories must be checked under the arm's own instructions. A model marketed for large screens is not proof that it supports every curved monitor or accessory combination.

Verify the mount interface

Check the physical mounting area after reviewing the monitor's instructions for removing its stand. A recessed surface can affect screw choice or adapter requirements. Use the hardware specified by the monitor and arm instructions and do not infer screw depth from another screen. Record whether an adapter is supplied, optional or unavailable. A matching pattern is one necessary check, not a complete installation approval.

Inspect the desk from underneath

Measure the top at the intended mounting location and look for a bevel, apron, cable tray or frame member. The clamp needs a suitable seating area, not just a nominal thickness. Verify the furniture's material and its permitted attachment method. A grommet installation needs the appropriate opening and access beneath it. Keep the mount position on your room plan so a later storage addition does not obstruct it.

Make an explicit decision record

Mark every line as documented, unresolved or incompatible. Proceed only when the manufacturer's instructions support the complete arrangement. Plan the screen movement and cable loop, and follow the supplied installation and adjustment sequence. Our checklist organizes the evidence; it does not substitute for installation instructions or establish a tested combination. Save the exact arm, accessory and monitor codes with the source links so future changes can be checked without starting from a family name.
