Crucial MX500 Internal SATA SSD - 1TB, 2.5-inch
The Crucial MX500 1 TB is an internal SATA solid-state drive, manufacturer part CT1000MX500SSD1. The manufacturer product flyer identifies this exact part as a 2.5-inch, 7 mm drive using SATA 6 Gb/s. It is a different physical format from M.2 SATA or NVMe drives and from portable USB storage. Check the computer service manual, bay height, SATA data and power connections and installation permissions before purchase. Plan a separate tested backup and an operating-system migration or reinstall before replacing an existing drive. Nominal capacity and formatted usable space differ. The authentic rear photograph shows the photographer's 2021 example with a readable 1000 GB capacity and exact model/part label. It does not prove the firmware, serial number, origin, seller condition or warranty of a unit purchased today. Micron announced its exit from the Crucial consumer business on 3 December 2025, with consumer-channel shipments scheduled to end in February 2026.
