Prepare an LX monitor-arm procurement sheet for your exact desk
Separate monitor attachment, supported load, desk mounting and movement clearance so a family-name match cannot hide an incompatible installation.

Start with four independent questions
A monitor arm purchase has four parts: the display attachment, supported load, desk mounting and required movement. Put them in separate columns. The answer yes in one column does not complete the others. This sheet uses the Ergotron LX product family as a reference, while requiring the exact selected part and its current instructions for a real installation. Do not associate a photograph of a similar arm with an unverified retail part.
Identify the monitor configuration
Write the complete display model, its installed accessories and the documented weight without the stand when applicable. Record whether an adapter, camera, speaker or other accessory would remain attached to the moving assembly. Check the arm instructions for how loads are evaluated. A screen-size category alone cannot establish load compatibility, and an unknown accessory weight should remain an unresolved item.
Record the display's mounting pattern and any documented adapter requirement. Check the depth and access around the mounting holes and the manufacturer's screw instructions. Do not guess a screw length from the monitor's overall thickness. A recessed attachment or an interfering rear cover can make a nominal mounting-pattern match insufficient. Ask the manufacturer when the documentation does not resolve the exact arrangement.
Map the desk mounting location
Record the desk model, construction and the intended clamp or grommet location. Check the exact arm kit's mounting options against its current installation guide and the desk manufacturer's requirements. Note the actual usable edge, underside access and anything occupying that space, such as an apron, cable tray or drawer. The visible thickness of a desktop is only part of this record; it does not prove the material or location can safely accept the proposed load.
Draw the needed movement rather than the largest advertised reach
Make a top-down sketch of the screen's useful positions. Include the wall, neighboring screen, laptop, lamp and any moving desk components. Use the exact product drawings to evaluate the required positions. Leave space for the complete display body, rather than plotting only its center. An arm's reach or adjustment range does not establish collision clearance in your particular room.
Add cable routing to the sketch. Record the connected endpoints and the path through each planned position. Follow the equipment's instructions for connections and movement. Do not use a taut cable to hold an arm in place or improvise a cable extension without checking its protocol and application. For a sit-stand workspace, evaluate the desk and arm as a combined moving arrangement using their documentation.
Close the procurement decision with evidence
List the exact arm part, mounting kit, monitor attachment, source drawings and unresolved questions. A complete sheet is useful for a support conversation or installer handoff. If a required answer remains unclear, settle it before purchase or installation. Office Home Supply has not installed or tested this combination. The worksheet makes separate compatibility requirements visible; it does not certify a desk or replace the manufacturers' installation instructions.
